About KLAARA
The KLAARA Conference is the leading professional forum for researchers, practitioners and organisations working in the fields of Easy Language and inclusive communication. The aim of the conference is to present the latest research findings, best practices and theoretical developments from various countries and to further develop them collaboratively. Anyone working in the fields of Easy Language, accessibility, inclusion, translation and inclusivity is invited to submit papers, offer workshops or participate in panel discussions.
The topics range from social participation and methods of text simplification, through linguistic and psycholinguistic perspectives, to international standards and the application of plain language in everyday life, education and administration. Exchange with users is also traditionally a central focus, in order to achieve real added value for practice. The KLAARA Conference expressly promotes interdisciplinary approaches and sees itself as an international hub.
The conference will be held in English and German. The link to International Easy Language Day provides an opportunity to present best-practice examples and developments from around the world and to further develop them collaboratively. Another highlight of the programme is the presentation of the KLAARA Award for outstanding research and practical initiatives
